Connections Canvas is a free visual solving tool for the
NYT Connections puzzle. Rather
than guessing blindly, use the color-coded canvas to organize the tiles into groups, test theories with candidate colors, and build confidence
before committing your answers in the official game.
Each day's puzzle loads automatically. Your color assignments and tile order are saved locally in your browser — no account or sign-up
required. Works on any device.
How to Use
-
Color-code tiles — Choose a color from the palette, then tap tiles to assign them. Choose a different color and tap again
to reassign.Tap again with the same color or use the eraser swatch to remove a color.
-
Candidate mode Have a tile that could belong to multiple groups? — Press the “+” button to toggle candidate
mode and mark tiles that could belong to more than one group, assigning up to two colors per tile.
-
Sort & organize — Sort “By Color” to group sets and partial guesses togher as you try combination. Reset
back to “Original” order as reference to help when entering sets in the official game.
-
Fill or Border mode — Use Fill for bold color coding, or Border for a subtler outline that keeps the tile text easy to
read.
- Look up words — Long-press any tile to see its dictionary definition or search Google.
- Browse past puzzles — Use the date arrows to navigate to previous days’ puzzles.
